What is the Genesee Lapeer Bicycle Ride for the Visually Impaired?

The Genesee Lapeer Bicycle Ride for the Visually Impaired is a recreational event that raises money for the Visually Impaired Center (VIC).  The bicycle ride is a tour of beautiful eastern Genesee County and western Lapeer County.  The event will start and finish at Siple Elementary School (9286 E. Coldwater Road, Davison, MI  48423).  The event starts at 8:30 a.m..

 

T-Shirts:

All pre-registered riders will receive a FREE event t-shirt.  To be considered “pre-registered”, the VIC must receive your registration and minimum entry fee by Friday, July 6th, 2007.  A limited number of extra t-shirts will be available on site on event day for only $10.00!

 

Routes:

This event offers beautiful bike routes that feature rolling hills, scenic lake views, and historic farmland.  Riders can choose from three different route lengths:

·         Short Route – 18 miles

·         Medium Route – 43 miles

·         Long Route – 60 miles

 

Parking:

Parking is available at the Start / Finish Point (Parkway Food Store, corner of M 15 and Mt Morris Rd).  Registration will be located outside under the tent..

 

What will be provided?

You will receive a route map, marked roads for each route, check points with food and/or drinks along the way, sag wagons to help with broken bikes or injured/tired riders, and a meal at the end of the ride!  Event T-shirts will be given to all pre-registered riders.  Pre-registration indicates that the VIC receives your registration form and minimum entry fee on or before Friday, July 6, 2007.  Event water bottles will be given to all participants!

 

Entry Fees:

All riders must pay a minimum of $45.00 (in collected donations or out of pocket) to participate in the event.  The VIC encourages you to collect donations from friends, family, and co-workers to raise much needed funding for the Visually Impaired Center in order to meet or exceed that $45.00 minimum.  Please include a check for (or checks totaling) at least $45.00 with your registration form.  If you would like to help blind and visually impaired people by collecting donations, download a donation form from the VIC web site, www.vicflint.org.  You may turn in additional collected money on or before registration day. 

 

Raffle:

Every participant in the Genesee Lapeer Bicycle Ride for the Visually Impaired will be entered into our raffle.  Participants will have a chance to win bicycles, bicycle gear, and much more!  Second chance raffle entries will be available for $10.00 per entry.
